That royalties from oil activity generates development for the tumbes region

DISTRIBUTION AND USE OF THE OIL ROYALTY IN THE TUMBES REGION

This first table shows that 70% of the royalty received in Tumbes is addressed to district municipalities, 20% to the Regional Government, 5% to the National University of Tumbes, and the other 5% is distributed among the National Technological Institutes.

ACCUMULATED ROYALTIES RECEIVED BY PRODUCING DISTRICTS BETWEEN 2007 AND 2017

This table shows that the royalty and royalty surtax budget items between 2007 and 2017 accounted for 79.9% of the budget received by the Canoas de Punta Sal District Municipality, 67.2% of the Provincial Municipality of Contralmirante Villa total budget, 42.9% of the budget in the District Municipality of La Cruz, 42.1% for the District Municipality of Corrales, and 41.3% and 43.9% of more Municipalities of Tumbes and Zarumilla, respectively.

DISTRIBUTION OF ROYALTIES AT THE PROVINCIAL LEVEL IN 2017

The royalty distribution in 2017 for municipalities as compared to the total budget received was 59.4% for the District Municipality of Canoas de Punta Sal, 46.8% for the Provincial Municipality of Contralmirante Villar, 40.3% was allocated to the District Municipality of Corrales, 32.9% went to the District Municipality of Zarumilla and 16.5% to the Provincial Municipality of Tumbes.
